Speculation is that this tower, will not be built by SITQ, probably Brookfield, that already owns a large share of the office towers on Bay Street.

So am I, as long as it's beautiful. We need a game changer down there. South of the train tracks is turning into a sea of forgettable buildings.

This is a prime spot for building a supertall office tower that Toronto can be proud of. Then, the other 'new' buildings around it will add to the skyline, rather than just be something else to glance past.

The article says that the building would be open on time for the Pan Am Games, that isn't that long from now if it goes through

There have been rumblings that this might be a major announcement in the coming months. No idea how accurate they are though.
