wow, thanks for the photos, emcee. height looks good going by the maquette here, and second the remarks on the terra cotta cladding, though think the design will finally push me to write that paper on path dependency in building design, with this building/vancouver as paradigmatic cases. surprised no balconies, like the henriquez trees on roof

Not bad. The spires seem a little tacked on.

At the very least, Cressey tends to follow through such that the final product looks okay. (see Elan on Seymour and Donovan)

I got a postacrd advertisement for the Maddox in the mail the other day - the render looked awful (pics above make it look much better). In particular, the short midrise at Drake looks bad in the render (and looks very utilitarian/institutional in the pics above).

Here's a render from the website:

I'm rather into colours, which is what much of Canada needs in dreary rain or snow...thus I've chosen this project as my latest RenderPornStar!

What is a RenderPornStar? It's my new architecture/renderings awards. Vancouver is now on the map--hope to see more great architecture/renderings from the city I love!

Building named after Angelina Jolee's son...how cute

Hopefully they will make an appearance here now that they have a condo development named after Maddox.....so cute if he actually lives in a unit there in the future!!

Drake Street is really active. Salt, Maddox and The Rolston are already happening, and 1265-1281 Howe Street, Burrard Gateway and 1300-1320 Richards Street are in the works.
