^Thanks for the pics.

I'm definitely not surprised by how this is turning out (ie. bland, mundane, typical Concord building from 90's). Out of curiousity I went back to the UDP minutes from 2008 to see what comments 'the experts' made about the design at the time. http://vancouver.ca/commsvcs/plannin.../jun18.html#1:

Evidently there was general consensus that the building was bland, mundane and typical Concord design from the 90's but it still got supported. Here's a few comments:

-The Panel...thought it was a repeat of past Concord projects.

-Several Panel members stated that the design looked like what was being done in the area 10 years ago.

-The Panel would like to see more “zing” in the colour palette and not have it look so much like other buildings on the Concord lands.

-Mr. Cheng said he agreed with the Panel’s comments especially concerning the colour as he also thought it looked too pale.

Knowing how cheap Concord is, I'm sure they had no interest in paying James Cheng to change the design since the UDP had approved it. Thanks again UDP!

I had no idea that this wasn't just a point block tower, but a big wide wall instead. Ick.

The glass is almost clear, too. Just what one needs for major solar gain.

Pics by me today - unfortunate that there's so much spandrel panels on the end of the podium when it's next to a parkette (and the ones towards the middle don't allign with a column).
