Helluva tour. And so much eye candy (urban & natural). I too like the map. Just adding a couple of comments/questions: wasn't Astoria in some movie a while back(it looks familiar)?, thanks for including Bellingham, the Lewiston Grade was even more curvy about 40 years ago, too bad you didn't quite make it to Pullman (WSU). I'm looking forward to your in-depth city threads from this trip.

Great way to celebrate 30, and yes, I'm envious. Thanks for the tour.

Thanks folks! I had a bunch of fun out there. I loved the cloudy weather and sensible temps.

Vancouver Island was the last thing that got cut from my itinerary. There was so much to jam in, even with eight days. I'll definitely need to hit this region up again, and will check out Van Island and Victoria.

I don't take many photos in the summer. It was really hot and I hate the sun.

You might recognize Astoria from both The Goonies and Kindergarten Cop. I was going to check out Pullman, but although Moscow, ID was a pleasant town it was a little dull, so I decided to skip it's cousin.

Just sticking around Chicago for the time being. The temps are cool again and the clouds are back, so I need to go out exploring again. Once the leaves are gone, I'm back in business.

* Short Circuit was also shot in Astoria

Anyways, awesome road trip man. You covered a ton. Too bad you couldn't have extended your loop a little more south to check out Boise, but I know how it goes.

Great thread and I want to make a map now too!!! LOL

That is awesome. I loved all the pics. I love the fog as in rolls in off the water and mountains. Very Kewl.

I actually drove from San Antonio to Seattle in May and then drove all the way back in September. Beautiful drive but long. Very Kewl i would definitely do it again, but not right now, i need a break, he he...

Yeah, I'm going to do one too. I'm about to do a similar fly-in roadtrip in the Southeast US to fill in a large gap in the areas I've been.

Great pictures, thundertubs. I'd love to go to those drier inland northwest areas, they are very intriguing to me.

I love your threads man, what a great way to discover America! The map is awesome! I do the same but the modern way, with a GPS and Google Earth, you should try it some time

Sigh, I'm coming up on 30 and know exactly what you mean. I'm thinking the Caucasus could do the trick (Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, etc....)

Great set. Love the Pacific Northwest.

This road would be a blast on a motorbike!
