What an amazing city.

What great photos!! My favorite set so far.

Thanks! Tribeca is my favorite neighborhood, especially the edge of Tribeca closest to the Hudson/alongside the West Side Highway. Beautiful. I remember walking around there real late at 1 am and being in awe. Too bad I don't have millions for an apartment there. I also remember stumbling upon that Ghost Busters firehouse when I wandered out of my hotel.

And funnily, I also overheard 2 tourists discussing how the neighborhood is the "real classic NY that you see in and dream about from the movies". LOL.

Great shots. I did virtually the same things as you when I went to NYC in September last year (I even spent the last couple of hours before heading to the airport sitting admiring the Flatiron), and our views are eerily similar

- Times Square got to be extremely irritating, and I tried to avoid it whenever possible. There's nowhere like it in the world, but it's a very tiring and very expensive area.
- I fell in love with the Woolworth Building, and along with the Chrysler it's the building I miss the most. A stunning piece of architecture.
- Top of the Rock is much better than ESB. We did both, and I preferred the Rock in almost every aspect. Except for a certain building with MetLife plastered on the top.

that is too funny, well it is good to know you enjoyed the trip as much as I did. I tend to walk fast normally, which apparently means I move at NYC speed, and I always could spot a tourist when you would see locals zig zagging around them.

I also got a kick out of crossing streets there, I learned quickly from locals that the first moment they have to cross the street, they are crossing.

So when the German that painted this...do you think he ever knew this would end up in Manhattan and have some random dude texting in front of it without the slightest care where the chunk of concrete behind him came from? By the way, that is a piece of the Berlin Wall...another moving find for me in the city.
"Random dude"? You mean... a stranger? Some guy you don't know? Unheard of. Maybe he likes texting in front of historic chunks of concrete, you pretentious nitwit.

thanks for liking the pictures dick...I didnt realize "random dude" was now an offensive term....I will remember to add that one to the list of offensive names to call someone....seriously, this is your complaint??

I was more making a point that people have been shot and killed around this wall and it was once a symbol of oppression to the German people, now it is a work of art sitting in front of an office building that someone could leisurely text in front of...when who ever painted this, I am sure this would be something they would never see when painting this....sorry that you took that as being offensive to the guy texting, when I was making a comment to how much the world has changed during my lifetime.

Great pics! Do you or anyone else know the name of these 2 streets? Because they are a bit of a surprise to find in NY and would be nice to visit when going there next time. Isn't it Pearl Street?

Also, if I am not mistaken, one of the oldest parts of downtown...those buildings may of been in place when the city was called New Amsterdam...though I could be wrong, maybe someone with some better knowledge of this area could have a more exact answer.

That might of been him, now that would of been funny.

Yeah, I have already been itching to go back...I am thinking of adding Pratt to the architecture programs that I want to apply to, if I could get a good deal to go there, it would be hard to pass up the chance to live in new york for a few years.

You could try for Cooper Union - if you're accepted you've got a complete scholarship.
