I love the hills around ,is a nice city, pity it's near a nuclear power plant.

If you are referring to the power plant pictured in the photo set, thats not a nuclear power plant. The one pictured in the set is the John C. Amos power plant, which burns coal as a fuel source to generate electricity. Amos is just west-nw of the Charleston (St. Albans) area, on Rt. 35, along the banks of the Kanawha River.

Very nice pics!! I love those shots looking down through the valleys between the lush green mountains and hills. Charleston looks like a beautiful place.

Was there first time about 14 years ago, and I was bowled over with the city, and even more bowled over with the people! I was bowled over enough to consider moving there and did some research. But when I discovered it was in that general cloudbelt area up there, I don't think I could deal with that! Not enough sunshine for me.

Over time, there must have been some nasty floods in that city, no?

At it's peak, Charleston had 85,000 people, so the infrastructure and built environment was built for 85k in that time period.

I lived in WV for two years- in Charleston and Morgantown. I ended up stranded in Charleston one summer, chilling with friends. I had some of the best times of my life there! Gorgeous photography, thank you.
