I like this style of suburban housing (maybe just not the amount of garages) and I agree that Vancouver has many similar neighborhoods. I guess it's a Pacific Northwest thing.
I love the idea of consolidating garages into shared buildings with granny flats above. Some of the architecture strikes me as kookie though. The trim is far too flat and over-scaled, giving the houses a Disney-fied feel. You see way too much of it in the NW.
