Yes, thank God for the alternative media. Without them we'd have nothing, but it's not the same as quality mainstream media. They don't have the resources to do extensive investigative reporting or fight libel lawsuits. It's also worrisome the extent to which it relies on a handful of key people, and if anything ever happened to them...

Hopefully, alternative/new media will continue to grow and steal marketshare and mind share away from absentee media owners.
