Actually, I forgot that some of the larger grocery stores have a separate booth usually beyond the check-outs that sell wines.

I wish Pizza Pizza weren't so popular. It's the worst pizza place out of them all.

Replace the Wal-Mart Supercentre with a regular Wal-Mart, replace the Ikea with a Loblaws-owned grocery store, mix in a Staples, a Winners, and a The Source by Circuit City and you'd be pretty much correct.

Ha. I should go out one day here in Ottawa and take pics of the exact same places, just to further prove your point!

Haha nice pictures! Unfortunately this could also be Halifax, if you replace the LCBO with an NSLC store, the Pizza Pizza with a Pizza Delight, and the Ikea with...a parking lot.

Do they have a lot of Sobey's stores in Ontario? I thought they were mostly in the maritimes.

^ At least Pizza Delight is ridiculously good compared to the pizza shaped styrofoam they serve you at Pizza Pizza.

We're just now starting to get them in my part of Ottawa, but they originated in the maritimes, and are much better than Loblaws or Loeb.

Sobey's have been springing up all over. Grocery stores are one thing that seem to be different in various cities. Hamilton and Burlington have Fortino's instead of Loblaws. Also see "The Barn" a lot here. Down by Windsor and Chatham they have Zehr's. They're all owned by the same couple of parent companies though.

I must comment that the camera used has excellent low light performance.

And this is only the beginning. There's still Rona, the good 'ol gas stations for the SUV and Tim's.

That could be Everywhere/Anywhere North America, not just Ontario. That could be my town, minus the snow of course. Except that Walmart calls them "SuperCenters" here instead of SuperCentres.

What part of Ottawa is that? They've had one in Barrhaven for a long time and Kanata has had one for a couple of years now but those are the only ones in Ottawa I know of.

I disagree with you about their quality. The one in Barrhaven is vastly inferior to the nearby Loeb. I think Loblaws is better then Sobeys also.

From my experience at Sobey's I've come to expect three things:
1. If they have something good on sale it will be sold out.
2. Their instore baked bread sucks.
3. I can find expired products on their shelves.

I used to love the Sobey's near me when it was independently owned but now that it's a corporate store I rarely go there.

They're building some in Orleans. The last time I was in a Sobey's was ten years ago in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. I have no idea about the new ones, but from what you're telling me, I guess I'll be disappointed.
