No. I'm pretty sure it was merely speculative.

Not even that. It was simply a vision from an architect.

This is like something the Dadaists would have suggested, except it would have been topped with a giant crepe festooned with rotting fish.

Even if they ever want to expand that platform, that design is IMO bad. On such a monument they should in such case go for a design that integrates with the older parts and looks like it was there from the beginning.
That said, leave it alone.

Keep Eiffel Tower as it is. Interesting: in Germany n some TV towers observation decks were closed, while tourists have to wait obviously for several hours to visit Eiffel Tower. And for those who want to get up a lattice tower I recommend the old Berlin Radio Tower. And for those who have no problems with long stairways visit Torre Faro ( http://www.ganzirri.it/spip.php?article57 ) in Messina. I believe walking up and down 1260 stairs will not require longer than waiting 4 hours in a queue at Eiffel Tower.

Nothing wrong with the design!

I like the design... but only based on the fact that I have read it was intended as a temporarily addition. As permanent I wouldnt like it much either.

It has some great references in its form and shape and picks up on historical and contemporary movements...

And the Eiffel Tower is hardly perfect as it is... we just consider it "perfect" because it has been like that for 125 years...

I welcome any artistic additions for to existing architecture.

It looks like the Eiffel Tower with genital warts.

.............................................who the fuck is responsible for this rape of one of the greatest pieces of architecture/engineering,its insulting even as a simple vision. as for the Washington Monument scaffolding on the last page im pretty sure Washington himself would turn in his grave if that was to come to pass.

Horrible. You cannot change something which is an icon, is like to add a roof to the Colosseo...wrong!

The Eiffel Tower adapts to provide all basic human needs with a wind turbine, rain water collection, vertical farming,
and electric legs forbidding any zombie to climb the tower.
