You went above and beyond my expectations like I said I’ve been interested in Jackson it’s been in the news a fair amount lately but before that it was a city I wants to know more about. It’s an old established southern city with a ton of history that hasn’t been completely destroyed for urban renewal. I haven’t really had a great mental picture of the city writ large a solid downtown around the state capitol sure & some classic grand southern neighborhoods along with some tough areas and some avarage ones.

Thanks again for putting in all the time and effort to share the full spectrum of Jackson helping me build a mental picture. I dig it, a lot of potential Jackson being such an old city I expected to see potential & from the city compilation folks out there putting the effort.

As ColDayMan it’s honest set not just showing that there’s vacant blighted areas but also more average and mundane areas as well as the beautiful, interesting & changing spaces. I wanted to get to know Jackson a bit more and I didn’t come off disappointed.
No problem friends, thanks for viewing!

Thanks, I wish I had a drone but yeah there is still a lot of undeveloped acres throughout the city.

Thanks for sharing these photos. I've really never thought much about Jackson other than the water crisis that gained the city some notoriety a couple years ago. I'll admit, Mississippi evokes some pretty bad associations for me, and it's a state I've never considered visiting, but these photos show some very charming neighborhoods and beautiful landscapes. Not to be a dumb Californian, but I was honestly surprised to see there's a Whole Foods in Jackson, tbh. Appreciate the photos and your contributions to the forum, vetteking

It's threads like this one that keep me coming back to this site 25 years running.

Fantastic pics of a place I genuinely had no mental image of other than a (very) dated one of the MS state house with an unpaved parking lot. I think it was being resurfaced at the time, but it just . . . reinforced stereotypes. These pics show otherwise. Thank you!
