Northern cities can look down right dreary in the winter. Lack of green foliage, grey skies, and icy streets take their toll. These things can be mitigated with bright cheery colours. Toronto has lots of red brick row houses, but most of our skyscrapers have lacked warmth. Adding accents of bright red isn't seen as a gimmick, but a smart design choice.
People here are asking for more colour and architects are delivering..... except here it seems we just lost the red.
