Years ago when I was at Freemont St in Vegas, I had an idea about a Pink Line station at Arcade Pl, basically dead even with the UC. I'd make a cool public space under the tracks. LED lighting - do a whole ceiling. Public art, games, food, drinks whatever. Call it Arcade Place, make it a brand, a fun place to hang out before and after games and shows.

Agreed. How deep can they realistically dig down around the UC before hitting the water table? Parking garages should be dug deep, so the 10 acres of public park space can be at grade, not up on a plateau where it will never feel truly public. It will be sectioned, roped off, closed whenever they want, corporate and sterile.
