The last time we got that much ice in St. Louis we lost power for like a week. I guess I can just stay logged on here and when the little light by my name goes out, go get a generator and batten down the hatches. I'm guessing it's too late to get a generator. The stores here in St. Louis are already mobbed. I should just set my house on fire and drive to a dank, urine soaked weekly motel in Biloxi.

I'm willing to bet at least $100 I won't have sex again. I've been a diabetic for 21 years, I'd be incredibly surprised if everything was still in working order...

We went public skating tonight (as we do once or twice a week). There were 250ish people there (they had to set a limit at that, and I think it was reached), so it was pretty chaotic. With the larger numbers come more douchebags (most of them wearing Tapout shirts) and people with iPods skating around completely oblivious of everything around them. Of course the ice was complete shit too, even after they cleaned it midway through. Another thing I've noticed both at the rink and at school: Every guy in St. John's dresses like a lumberjack; I would expect this in rural BC, but if anything shouldn't they all look like fishermen out here?

my phone says there's a blizzard warning for Chicago on Tuesday and Wednesday. I have a wedding to make it to, before Saturday.

I'd take a blizzard over a G-D ice storm (I think). Seems like a better chance of the power staying on - I guess it's Ameren's Big Test after last time. I am supposed to run up to Springfield this week, groundwater sample, and somehow make it back down 55 alive.

And we get all of your weather, down there, as snow, up here. Ice can land a punch up front in a major way, but snow is forever, at least, it seems that way.

This time we get nearly an inch of ice plus up to a foot of snow, after the power is out from the ice.

how about "The Midwest Bitchin' Barn"
That sounds exotic to me. I don't exactly see a barn around here.

Guess that means I'll have to take motorized transportation to work. Maybe one of those "bus" things I hear people talk about.
