My family has had a condo in Panorama since '89(Horsethief right by the Toby chair) and that has been the main place I've done my skiing since.
The last couple of years have been substantially better then some of the years before that. Although I still remember getting huge amounts of snow in the early 90's, however the temperature would sit around -20 for most of the day. Now there seems to be less snow but the more comfortable temperatures for skiing/boarding.
I like to stick to the upper parts of the hill and the more isolated runs that don't see as many of the people on them. I love those parts of the mountain where you can stop on a run and see no one and the air is absolutely quiet! What a feeling!
Of course what I like most is the year round aspect of the village now, especially with the golf course and the hot springs around now. It's become a great little resort that still feels cozy and not big and overpowering. I'll take Panorama over the ego-fest of giant cabins and ridiculous speedboats down on the lake in Invermere. If I wanted to live in a suburb I'd do it in Calgary, not where I'm taking my vacations!(no suburbs for me at all though) However Invermere airport is a great little facility to fly into for a day trip or weekend to visit some friends in the valley.
Edit: It was a great day when they finally retired the Horizon double chair, champagne and summit t-bars and introduced the Quad(Champagne Express) and Summit Quad to get to the top of the mountain.
