Can you guys just envision how much this project will impact that gateway to the West Loop?
But this gets me to another point: for 20 years it seemed that the West Loop would center around Madison, which would serve as its major corridor.
But everything shifted dramatically in the past 5 years. Everything moved north to Randolph/Lake near the train stations, with all of the new apartments, hotels, retail, and the office boom. The West Loop is completely developing in a new direction. I think Madison will now become a secondary corridor.
I for one would still like to see more high rises further south and west, but it seems like the NIMBYs will want to keep the density at the periphery of their district.
