Yeah, not just in here, but Toronto decades long boom bearly gets any media attention compared to places like London, Dubai, Austin, Seattle, et al. Especially since Toronto will have the 4th most skyscrapers in the world after all the proposals are built.

Especially if all the proposals are built, Toronto will have the 4th most skyscrapers in the world .
As expected (in addition to the usual suspects to the south)... the worst offenders of "anywhere but Toronto" hang out in the Canada forum.

I've re-posted the same 3 mega-projects seen here today, in the Proposals thread/Canada section... and just crickets... nada... absurd.

But if it's not about Toronto = backflips.

"Oh gee there's another photo of Edmonton's tall building with that same bridge in the foreground".

I've only seen that angle 3,127 times. Please post more (and continue to ignore the stunning skyline panoramas of T-Dot posted just before it).

Don't take it personally. There's an understandable tendency in human nature to diminish or downplay the biggest, brashest, and most successful, and to lift up, encourage, and overpraise the smaller or less-successful. And I actually don't have a problem with that.

^ Looks like the formwork is getting high enough to add the next set of diagonal steel bracing at the corners, which will allow for the corner plates to be cast in place. I'm thinking once we have 2 or 3 sets of those done, we'll start to see cladding going up.

Also, what's GTA? Assuming the ONLY answer is that Toronto has a suburb named after a video game...

^ Ahhhhh, salmon skin roll. Thank you for the clarification. Yes, the GTA area outside of Toronto proper has more active proposals than most other North American cities. It's insane and fun to watch. Definitely some duds amongst the bunch (which every city has), but quite a few exciting ones.

Wow! The current building at 1366 Yonge St that Bazis wants to replace with a 41-storey tower was built only in the 1990s. It's probably no more than 30 years-old. This is the second project, the other being downtown at Jarvis/Earl, where a building from the 90s is going to be demo'd for a new tower. Things happen super fast in this city!

the city only allows highrises in small part of the city, this means that we are tearing down 20 storey buildings to build 30 story buildings beside single family homes because those single family homes are protected from being anything but single family homes. This is the perfect example of everything that is wrong with Toronto zoning

45 St. Clair West is interesting, but will be made or broken by the materials, especially the spandrel materials. The diagonal scoop framing the windows every three floors is an interesting touch.

237 Victoria Street is fucking awesome. Full stop.

Nice to see the next round of diagonal bracing on The One!

Another tall one for the Bloor-Sherbourne area looks be getting underway soon (demolition permit issued).

Unfortunately for locals a large part of St. James Park West will be closed for construction staging according to new on-site signage. The entire park will be closed in spring 2024 for a large, year-long make-over.
