Sarah Mills: Regina’s leaders need to take off their rose-coloured glasses

By CKOM News
Aug 1, 2025 | 7:39 AM
You can’t fix a problem unless you own the fact you have one. In today’s Mills Minute, Sarah Mills says it’s time Regina Mayor Chad Bachynski did exactly that, when it comes to the city he’s leading.
Saskatoon blows Regina out of the water , this Mayor does not have a clue he’s useless

Thanks. Trying to get my directions right in that picture. Is that Pinkie Road at the bottom and Dewdney is out of the frame to the left with the photo facing East?

Equipment working on the Westerra expansion might just be parked there also. The tracks show it going that way. But who knows. I'll believe it when I see some actual excavation beginning.

They also cleared the field behind the co-op of weeds and vegetation yesterday.

Rosewood is at the north end of Courtney Avenue beside Maple Ridge. The neighbourhood has been slow getting started with financial problems at the start of land servicing even before the school construction started. A school, some apartments, a daycare and 1 street of houses. Avana is building these new apartments.

Is it possible to take some aerial drone shots of the old Sears catalogue warehouse on Broad Street on the cemetery across the street that would be kind of interesting thank you

Anyone here know or have an idea if they are extending Arens all the way to Woodland Grove Drive this year? Or are they just extending it another block west and stopping?

Nothing has changed at those sites since I was a kid. Just use google maps and it doesn't matter what year you look at.

I got some pictures from tonight. Maybe they'll go all the way to Woodland Grove this year. The underground pipe work was added earlier this year. The sub grade has been excavated to Green Stone Road, but the curb work and road base doesn't go that far. I think if that was as far as they were going they would have added the road base and curbs there as well. I just remembered Kaufman Ave is supposed to connect to Arens west of Green Stone, so its possible they'll wait until that gets extended to Arens first (there is some concrete storm drain pipe near that spot).

Piles going in for new Harbour Landing School. New Eastbrook Park progressing. Exterior nearly finished for first of the new water reservoirs.

Rosewood, slowest growing new neighbourhood

Skyview work ongoing

Need a job? Come to Saskatchewan
Province has Canada’s lowest unemployment rate.
SaskToday

Saskatchewan's two biggest cities saw year-over-year growth. Compared to July 2024, Saskatoon's employment was up 4,300, an increase of 2.1 per cent, and Regina's employment was up 5,600, an increase of 3.8 per cent.

City road report indicates that construction at Kinsmen Park South is starting. Might interfere with the cross country ski trails this winter as they usually leave fencing up until new grass is established.

I was looking at the drone shot of the new park in Eastbrook and noticed some craters. I searched to confirm that it was a skate park, but its actually going to be another bmx pump track like the one in Lakeview.
