Last nights fireworks here in Quad City Land.....I wasn't at this display, I was at my brothers home south of Rock Island watching another firework show (you can see this display in the distance at :23 on the left side of the screen before the show in foreground takes off) It was nice since we sat in his backyard and didn't have to worry about traffic jams.

.......BTW, I hope my poor neurotic dog makes it through this 4th alive. We gave her a Benadryl last night and it worked somewhat but she was still distressed.

How do the holidays work in the US when the 4th is in the middle of the week? Do you get Mon, Tues, Wed off? Or Wed, Thurs, Fri? Or just Wed? Or just a day added onto the nearest weekend, maybe just the Monday or just the Friday to make up for working Wednesday?

Ordinarily I'd get the entire week off, but with Comic-Con coming up next week I have to do some last minute prep work.

Canada Day was a Sunday, so it wasn't a holiday. Except for the fireworks in the evening, everything was business as usual.

Monday was a holiday in place of that, which when you think about it, it the best time to have the holiday. The morning after the party.

I'm working a 4/10 schedule (Monday through Thursday 6am-5pm, hour lunch). I had today off, but have to go in tomorrow, then off again on Friday. Yay?

Thanks to YouTube, I've discovered that when you lose your keys and have no spare, specially bent paper clips will unlock everything. Guess I got ripped off buying a $200 safe

Yes having Wednesday off fucks with my head. Tuesday felt like a Friday and today feels like a Monday.

You bought a safe that uses a key? That's an automatic rip off right there.

Whenever I burglarize a house I always look for that suspiciously fake rock with the front door key hidden inside.

Me too, but shit isn't getting done, like drawings and stuff from our CADD office. Zilch.

I also worked yesterday and today. And by work I mean I came in, sat down for 8 hours, and then left. So no CAD work being done for Toyota on this hellish day. It's not even noon and I dare not go outside.

Got paid for Wednesday at least.

A friend of mine took a hot air balloon ride this morning. This is the NW quadrant of downtown Indy.

That vaguely reminds me of Denver with Speer (I think, google maps is acting up) instead of whatever that curvilinear road is in Indy and the Platte River or Cherry Creek instead of the canal.
