Isn't that becoming Walmart or Canadian Tire?

Seems like they will just end up with even more empty space at the back of Northgate this way

It's becoming a Canadian Tire. We just did some environmental drilling work there.

Of the 4 Target Stores in Winnipeg
Kildonan Place - ?
Polo Park - Polo Park took over the lease. No word what's going to replace it.
Grant Park - Canadian Tire
Southdale - Walmart

I would love to see Save-On-Foods go into this space. This would be a perfect location for one in East Winnipeg.

I agree Pinus. I think a Homesense could work too.

With HomeSense being about 30,000 sq ft and their current plan being to build shared stores with either Winners or Marshalls, also 30,000 sq ft. Save on Foods is about 60,000 sq ft. I can't recall the size of the KP Target but it is in a general range that could fit all those. The question becomes, could Save On Food take part of the space on the east side and be okay without mall access?

Alternatively, perhaps Cineplex can build an upgraded theater in the Target space and Save On Foods can move into the old theater space...

So what happens to the Porsche dealership on Pembina? They just built a new facility... does it become part of the VW dealership now? I can't imagine that Winnipeg could now support two Porsche dealerships a few miles apart.

Good point.

Maybe we've just become a much more wealthier and affluent city than we care to believe?

Yeah, I guess it's possible. But considering how small the pre-existing dealership is I'd imagine there is more $ to be made by growing the existing one instead of duplicating the overhead with another small dealership a short distance away?

Re outlet mall, hard to read the names with the proof graphic quality. That said, all the shops except three anchors are named. One of the three is Off 5th, another could be Ralph Lauren, an outlet staple currently missing on the layout. Interestingly though that would still seem to leave space for Nordstroms Rack...

In terms of the Porsche dealer, it will likely open after the mall. If they were told they had to update their dealership to maintain their contract and the outlet mall location is opening 2-3 years after the mall that could be 5+ years in the existing location.

Possible scenario, but a speculative opinion?

Added some of the other shops below (in bold) and sorted the list by unit number. Take this list with a heavy dose of salt though as the site map circulating is bordering on unreadable. ** courtesy of DancingDuck

Anyone wanting to take a crack at the rest could use the Outlets of Niagara site as a reference point.

In terms of the Porsche dealer timeframe its speculation on my part but based on the Outlet timeline it makes sense. They are doing construction on the main mall from now until likely the later part of 2017 when it is supposed to open. The extra space that would be dealer lots from Porsche and Audi will be used for extra parking through their first Christmas season. Puts the start of dealership construction around spring of 2018 with about 9-12 months to build based on the Mercedes on Route 90 timeline. Puts occupancy around 2019. If there is a year delay, 2020.

I guess I shouldn't be too surprised but it turns out that Build a Bear is publicly traded on the NYSE

http://www.dakotafinancialnews.com/b...alysts/725443/

Given the nature of their business, I guess I figured that they were operated by fairies in an enchanted forest somewhere. It's depressing to think that their biggest shareholder is Dimensional Fund Advisors LP.
