I don't like any of James Dolena's larger neo-Georgian efforts. I find them charmless. Symmetry usually helps, but not in Dolena's case. I like some of his
smaller homes.
Paul R Williams was brilliant at Hollywood Regency. The master.

Dolena certainly had his fans among the Hollywood elite, sometimes collaborating w/ Billy Haines, who handled interiors.
It was Dolena who remodeled a Spanish-style duplex for
Haines' own home.

wiki page.
It was George Cukor's Dolena home's pool area which was rebuilt on a sound stage for "Something's Got to Give" (1962, unfinished).
