I agree. What intersection is this?

It seems to give a nice perspective on downtown, that doesn't look as sparse and hollowed out as usual.

Tim Bousquet has another article recycling the same rhetoric about why this project is terrible. However, he did have a link to renderings in an updated staff report, which was about the only worth-while part of the article. I don't think they've been posted here yet, and I'm not sure I'm that wild about them – feel they look a little squat, hopefully it’s just the perspective.

I think it's just the difference in elevation at different sides. Looks pretty sharp to me--usually I don't much like rounded glass corners, but it looks more sculptural here. It works.

Only thing I might prefer is to soften the street level by incorporating more of that black brick, especially along the Argyle side. Would close the street in a little and preserve the sort of cozy feel with all the bars and shops on the other side.

Thanks for the link. I think another thing affecting the look is the ratio of the height to the relatively large width. Although I've always been a little sad that the office buildings couldn't have been taller - does anyone know if they're up to the rampart max?

Strange, I seem to remember the Argyle street level looking more inviting/interesting in earlier renderings, maybe just due to signage, etc. I think there were also large pillars by the main entrance, and that giant screen..

To be honest, I wasn't crazy about the video screen. Not sure the city needs that kind of visual pollution--it might be cool for big sporting events or something, but I bet it would mainly just serve to barrage people on the sidewalk patios with ceaseless, un-ignorable advertising.

Am I the only one who thinks that the design is getting worse every new renderings? Don't get me wrong , I like it but I really liked the first two a lot more in comparison

Thanks again to Ziobrop. The picture below of the Nova Centre construction caught my attention. It is good to see the dirt ramp disappearing as the site works continues.

Hopefully the Caterpillar operator will accomplish it safely.
