^So, that means you can calculate which date this building becames WTB?
BTW I just thought of something I've found weirid for a long time:
On Dubai Mega Projects.com I read:
"- Observation decks will be located on the 124th floor at a height of 440m."
I find this very strange becasue the "skypod on the CN-tower is taller: 446.5m. Why wouldn't BD place the observation deck taller?

484/134 = 3,611
509 - 484 = 25
25/3,611
6,9 floors + 1 floor/3,611 to make it the tallest bulding in the world
= 7,2 floors

no need to search where architects did get their inspiration. straight to the reference of gigantic uprising constructions from nature : in the distance, with its shape, no glass yet and the sandish colors all around, it strikingly (?) resembles a termites mound.

^ If landscaping is all you're getting sick about, sit back, take some Pepto, and wait 3 more years to post landscaping issues because they haven't started yet. They are still digging up sand and planting skyscrapers.

Yep. There may be small pockets of beauty, but right now Dubai as a whole is butt-ugly. As you say, the entire city is a really massive construction site now. Even the city's demographics point that out - 1.1 million males in a city of 1.4 million people. It' really unprecendented for a city this massive to rise in under a decade. And it will be quite a story to follow for the next few years. The jury is still out on whether this will be a desireable place to live rather than just a good place to invest in.

One thing is for sure. A completely-clad Burj Dubai will go a long way to making the city a more beautiful place. 150 stories of dirty concrete is damn ugly!

Do note that alot of those men are "imported" workers, and there are ususally a shitload of visitors in town.

That's what I was alluding to. The imbalance of males to females is a testament to the number of construction workers in the city. I would suspect that once the city is a little more "finished", people from the surrounding Middle East countries seeking greater social freedom and opportunity will seek to emigrate to Dubai, while the impoverished Asian workers who built the skyscrapers are "allowed" to return home to their countries of origin.
