I don’t think anyone is saying a hotel shouldn’t be built at Penn’s Landing. It’s just that it isn’t the “center of gravity” of the city. If this project was a few blocks lower around Wash Ave, yes, I’d probably be surprised, but this site is very much in the heart of Center City especially with everything going up around it. It’s a stone’s throw from Rittenhouse, the Kimmel Center, theaters, nightlife etc.
