Now forming the 23rd floor walls and posts of the north 29s tower. Have also now tarped the grand lobby fronting Talbot St to provide some protection for the masonry work to recreate the old street facade.

Now forming the 24th floor slab. I think the stepback on the east side is the 25th floor in the design.

They have made a lot of progress installing the lobby atrium glass along Talbot Street. No signs of any masonry work starting on the rebuilt facade for the lobby wall. Wrapping up the 25th floor on the 29s north tower and they have the windows installed upto the 15th floor now.

Forming has started for the 28th floor walls. Still no signs of any masonry work on the Talbot St lobby entrance wall. Window glass installation is also up to the 20th floor level.

Looks like they plan to add three more tower crane segments as they have been delivered to the site. The additional segments should lift the tower crane high enough to clear the mechanical penthouse when built in the coming weeks. Shame they didn't amend the building permit to add a couple of more floors to the north tower and make it 32 or 33 floors rather then 29.

Wrapping up the final residential 29th floor and have started forming for the mechanical penthouse. Have also now removed the concrete pump arm. Window glass is now installed up to the 24th floor level and have started installing the balcony railing glass on the lowest floors. Still no signs of any masonry work on the faux Talbot streetscape lobby.

Almost done pouring the mechanical penthouse walls on the 29s north tower. Should be forming the roof slab on the penthouse next week in part bringing on the topping out ceremony celebration and the end of concrete forming on the site.

Wrapping up the mechanical penthouse roof slab and concrete forming operations on the north tower. This is officially topped out.

Have now got the window and balcony modules installed up to the 27th floor and the exterior construction elevator extended upto the roof level. Should see the roofing contractor start work on the roof soon and the HVAC chiller unit lifted to the rooftop.

Still no signs of masonry contractor to rebuild the fawx Talbot streetscape in the glass lobby fronting the street. They have started rebuilding the street concrete curbs thou? Beginning to wonder if they will actually recreate the talbot streetscape in the lobby now.

On another note, we were driving the 407 the other day and I saw a building which looks almost identical to Centro. Since the developer is Old Oak and they were caught duplicating another building in Toronto for the One Richmond tower this does not surprise me. Pretty lame to just copy other city’s buildings.

Not surprising if your using the same architect and structural engineering firm as you are saving a lot of money not to mention sourcing materials and components like windows, balconies, etc etc. Custom components would add alot of costs and delays.

I agree that using the same design could be beneficial if it is the same architects and engineers. However, in the case of One Richmond Row the architects were different and it simply seemed to be a case of lazy imitation. I would be curious what the building was on the 407 that was similar to Centro.

The same building plans are being used all over London. So many buildings have nearly the very same style.

for example:

Southdale Road: https://www.google.com/maps/@42.9367846,..._ep=EgoyMDI1MDgxMy4wIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D

Hyde Park Road: https://www.google.com/maps/@43.014091,-..._ep=EgoyMDI1MDgxMy4wIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D

Welcome to Blahsville. Anything to save a few bucks.

Its even worse in KWC. Novosibirskian.

They were lifting HVAC chiller units onto the roof of the 10s section today. Still no signs that they are starting the install of the fawx Talbot Streetscape facade in the lobby. Masonry contractor has been working on patching and cleaning up the brick facade of the old law office on the NW corner of the north tower.
