Anyone know why the bike lanes were removed from Esplanade ? Is it due to Low Road construction ?

Last I heard they were removing parking spots to add bike lanes to Esplanade.

Low level stuff only affects east of St Georges. But I haven't noticed any construction despite the "starts April 22" signs (that were "starts April 15" signs before that).

Okey dokey. The bike lanes on Esplanade were painted back on.

We are having a frozen yogurt explosion in Lower Lonsdale. One on 2nd and Lonsdale is a hit. New one across from the theatre on Esplananade and Chesterfield, and now one is opening in the strip of small stores near the Seabus entrance.

Sounds like a pretty big development is going to happening between the entire west side of the block between 1st and 2nd street along Lonsdale. Anyone have more information ?

Maybe you could start by telling us how you know this?

PS Thanks for the acknowledgment, hollywoodnorth. I know four storey wood isn't terribly exciting, but posting a bunch of photos and getting zero feedback sucks.

Take a slow walk down the street, look at the (empty) storefronts with one very telling 'moving here' piece of paper .... Piece it together.

All I can say is, and I have no inside info, me sad Hulk won't be angry for very long.

Walk and look at local shops?!? We loloers never do that, clearly.

edit: Rod Clark apparently used the term "Jewed down" when talking about BC Hydro yesterday and refused to retract it/apologize. Hopefully this leads to him leaving council since he's one of the guys who votes against everything, but I dunno if "scandals" ever matter in this apathetic political landscape.

And here's a pic of the new waterfront volleyball courts

Costs brought down and profitability up? Maybe it was a compliment?

Is the moving soon notice from Big Pete's Comics? They are moving down the block to 123 Lonsdale, the former Petrov's Arts & Crafts space.

In the nicest way possible, it means you are a tough negotiator. Not the worst thing you can say about someone, but obviously the use is derogatory.

Also it was about PMV owing taxes, not BC Hydro as one blog said. That makes more sense.

Outlook writer https://twitter.com/toddcoyne has been tweeting/re-tweeing about it. Apparently the mayor apologized for Clark today.

Yup. So no more awesome Hulk wall I guess.

I hope the building does one of those 'green roof tiered patios' tops. Would look nice there.

On a side note the Lonsdale side of 'Local on Lonsdale' up on 20th looks like a cheap office industrial complex. Perhaps they have plans to jazz it up.
