I fully agree! As for know Brooklyn is leading that route but we need more from Queens and Jersey!

We need a full rendering of ALL projects in the NYC (all boroughs) and Jersey area.

Still waiting for that Brooklyn supertall approval. I'm sure it's very near!

Good news gentlemen!!

Despite his critics, Mr. Shvo is forging ahead. He recently went into contract for a second, even more ambitious development, in partnership with Erez Itzhaki of the Keystone Group. The project, 100 Varick Street, is to be built on nearly half an acre between Broome and Watts Streets. The site is an assemblage of several town houses, development parcels and air rights that took six months to acquire. The developers are proposing a 30-story condominium and expect to complete more than $800 million in sales. He says he also is putting together two deals near Central Park in Midtown, one of them for a 100-story tower.
Well, get ready for a 500m+ über!

For those two towers near Central Park, there are about five or so possible assemblages along the 57th Street corridor.

My bets for the 100-floor tower are on the 50 W. 58th Street assemblage.

Both Michael Shvo and Michael Stern are on pace to be the next Gary Barnett. Maybe Donald Trump will come out of retirement...

Anyway, I am intrigued by Shvo's midtown developments, and want to learn more.

The 30-Minute Interview
Michael Shvo

Q. Tell me about some of your other projects.

A. At the moment I’m involved in four developments, all in New York. The first one, closed a month and a half ago, is 239 10th Avenue.

The second project is in SoHo. It’s a very large development — 300,000 square feet — which I assembled with Keystone Group. And there are two additional developments in Midtown that I’m in the process of working on.

Shvo recently paid a record $23.5 million, or $850 per square foot, for a former Getty gas station in West Chelsea, which he plans to redevelop with a partner. And at 100 Varick Street, a half-acre assemblage between Broome and Watts streets, Shvo is working with Erez Itzhaki of the Keystone Group to develop a 30-story condominium that he hopes will complete more than $800 million in sales. And perhaps most ambitiously, he is putting together a deal for a 100-story tower near Central Park in Midtown, according to the Times.

^Very True

Does anyone have more news/rumors/speculations on this supposed 100 story tower that could be at the vacant lot at 50 W 58th?

The cantilever would ensure that more of the apartments in Mr. Barnett’s building would have clear views of Central Park. If the league turns down his offer, Mr. Barnett said he would raise the height of the tower to 1,500 feet, from 1,400 feet.
I so hope the LPC rejects the cantilever. It's ugly as hell and we would get our 1,500 footer back.

Re: 220 CPS, now 920 feet tall. Unfortunately not a supertall, but still better than the original height (~550ft).

New: 2 Hudson Boulevard (504W34th), at least 1000 feet tall. Site (current McDonalds) could have potentially some 3m sq ft. Air rights from 1 Hudson Boulevard (which will have a redesign, most likely back to supertall) could be transferred, so we'd get a pretty large tower here.

I wouldn't be surprised if we see NYC's first 500m+ tower (roof height) here.

Yeah, I just saw. Let's hope it breaks at least the 200m/656ft mark.

With all those supertall proposals popping up (7 400m+ towers!!) it's really time for someone to make a bold statement and propose a 500m+ über. It would be such a waste if HY North Tower (408m/1337ft) ends up tallest. I mean the BIGGEST skyscraper development in America surely deserves a signature tower.

New York city is developed from a 500 to a 700 to a 1000 and now to a 1300ft plateau. We need a singature tower!

It'll get built, eventually. From what I've heard it's on ice for now, but considering that the 15 Penn design was specifically approved for this site I think it's pretty unlikely that the design will change.

A planned tower with 100+ stories near Central Park. Since the address or a formal name hasn't been revealed yet it'll be known as the Shvo tower for now.
