In that image are the Undermount and Maclean Hunter buildings to the right of the tracks, as they were, later turned into the monstrosity that is this.
I almost decided to buy a unit in that building a couple years ago. But ended up deciding the GO Train commute to Toronto wouldnt make sense.
Montreal looking incredibly classy in that shot. Wish we'd kept more Expo 67 pavillion buildings around. They all looked awesome and the few that were retained like the biosphere and casino are still celebrated today.
Acadia Sugar Refinery on the Dartmouth side of the harbour opposite Halifax. It was a Volvo assembly plant for a while; there were a few Volvo plants in town and you'd see a lot of those cars around up into the 90's.
Halifax had the oldest sugar refinery operations in Canada, going back to 1818.

In Canada, the provinces of Quebec and Ontario were always RHT as they were created out of the former French colony of New France. The province of British Columbia changed to RHT in stages from 1920 to 1923, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island in 1922, 1923, and 1924 respectively, and the British colony of Newfoundland (part of Canada since 1949) in 1947, in order to allow traffic (without side switch) to or from the United States

Parts of London's main drags (Richmond, Dundas) have (err, had) a similar look. Now it is merely junkie-central.

Not a skyline but I thought this was interesting. This is showing shipping in the port of Halifax in the early 1960's. This was an era of large-scale bulk shipping; containerized shipping didn't become common until later in the 60's and 70's and I think the South End container terminal was built in the late 60's. Looks like 16 ships here and Shipfax points out that 1 modern container ship would have more capacity than all of these combined. The largest ship so far to call on Halifax I think was the Marco Polo which is about 400 m long and carries 16,000 containers.
As shipping evolved the amount of labour required to move goods also dropped enormously. In the 19th century there were armies of workers with draft animals moving cartloads of barrels and so on. It is a lot like farming. Today, one crane operator moves a huge amount of goods.
I know this is totally tangential (and not meant to be in any way a slight) but did anyone else think to expect a "silly walk" out of that gentleman at 1:31 or so?

This one is amusing because the background behind the hospital never looked anything like that.
For one, there's a giant hill sprouting out of what would be Lake Ontario. The dense, midrise cityscape punctuated by church spires looks like it was either taken from a huge European city or is the printmaker's artistic creation.
Gerrard St Village was one of those unfortunate casualties of a growing city. That whole area was replaced by hospitals and various admin buildings, parkades, apartments, etc.
