Pinkie Road paving has been pretty much complete for 2 weeks, practically nothing new happening but still not open yet.

One thing near Regina I noticed a few weeks ago when picking up a wheelbarrow at the Emerald Park Home Hardware is that there is a business park going in just south of the Pilot Butte diverging diamond interchange. They had traffic diverted off the south service road while they were working on a business access. Still early stage of land servicing.
Coop cardlock with an overnight parking and a full washroom/shower facility.

The traffic is being diverted at that point while they install a traffic circle at the intersection.

That new parking lot beside Costco doesn't appear to have left room for the building that is in the site plan. Unless the building would eat into the existing lane beside Costco. The parking spot lines are painted in the Costco style with a little buffer between spots. Added a picture to previous batch I posted. https://imgur.com/a/DRfSQsC

Aurora and Horizons site plans have been updated. I don’t think the building you referenced is on the site plan now.

Avana must have very deep pockets with all the huge projects they have going on at once. The roadways are laid out in Westerra for the project south of the Coop gas station.

Anyone know what they’re doing with the building on the corner of Elphinstone and Sask Dr? I believe the city owns it (across from Dairy Queen). At first I thought they were just fixing the roof, but now it looks like there may be a bit more work going on.

Wow that site has been vacant for decades. I assume it is contaminated - former gas station.

EDIT:
This from a 2013 City Report on brownfield sites:

Quote:
The report noted the City owns a property at 1901 Elphinstone St. that was leased to a company that operated a service station at the site for a number of years.

At the end of the lease, the city was required to clean up the site at a cost of $82,000.

the liquor permit is for 3431 Sask Dr, not sure if that is indeed the same building.

According to the City tax map it is the same building, but a separate parcel from the parking lot fronting Elphinstone.

The rumour was it is to be a Burger King. Unless someone has heard something different.

Building permit report has it in the food category but no specifics.

It’s about time they started building something on Saskatchewan Drive that whole stretch all the way to Albert Street needs to be redeveloped that would really clean up the city. Does Sandra have any announcements coming before her looming reelection

It looks like the railway side of the road is earmarked for greenspace along that stretch in addition to road widening (at the 10:30 mark in the video). I don't think the project is starting until at least 2027, and I believe they are starting at the Winnipeg Street end. It also mentions making the area less industrial.

Just noticed that the North Albert Ring Road bridge rebuild tender went up today. 2 more years of full construction season Ring Road restrictions.
