The peonies are opening. Finally!

Edit: Lovely evening. But I have a hoodie on; it's certainly not hot.

Just got through the weekend that included wide spread flooding and evacuations just out side the city. Supposed to be getting nice but they've been saying that a few times this year. A few people even lost their homes potentially.

Been a cold and rainy spring and start to summer, looks like that's finally going to change next week! Just in time for Stampede too.

Sorry, I can't come into work for the rest of the week. I'm feeling great, and the weather and forecast is amazing. Thanks for sympathy.

The fog is spilling over the hills. Still a few metres away from even downtown.

Maybe summer can begin in earnest now?
Time for the lawns to go yellow and the annual summer drought to begin.

Thursday's high at Vancouver Harbour was 23 C (26 C w/Humidex), the low was 15 C.

The rain that was supposed to arrive yesterday still isn't here. But we'll see.

I can't believe you still have peonies in bloom. It's like spring never ends.

A lot of spring flowers elsewhere are summer flowers here - there's a seasonal delay, and not much of a spring, so they really only get started in mid-June.

Some things will bloom a second time in fall, though, so that's nice Doesn't make up for not having a spring, but hey, it's something.

I wished our trees would bloom longer. Not many trees bloom all summer long here. In the Southern US they have Myrtle Crape, but it’s only an annual plant with deciduous roots here (grows back every spring but doesn’t grow that large).

Someone in my soon-to-be neighborhood has a nice feathery plant with pink flowers planted out front. I didn’t recall seeing that plant before so I took a picture and searched it on Google. It’s called Tamarix and it retains its pink blooms the whole summer. Maybe more a large shrub than a tree, but it can grow quite large.

The problem is, it’s considered highly invasive and that’s the reason most nurseries won’t sell them.

It's actually more like spring never comes........

Sorry SHH, I couldn't resist.

22C and partly cloudy in Moncton at 11 AM, going up to 29C this afternoon (humidex 36).

Unsettled weather this weekend with showers and thunderstorms, which is bad news for the big Cavendish Beach Music Festival on PEI.

Cloudy with some sunny breaks, and 23 (humidex 28) at 12PM. The cooler, rainy weather has passed and looks like we're in for a solid week of above seasonal temperatures, sun, and humidity.

Well, fuck. Not that I want rain, but I could do without "above seasonal".
