At first read I thought you said St. Vincent was planning on playing there.

Similar to a raised computer floor however at the core of each floor is 111 Main the stairs and elevators are raised like a podium 2ft tall. The rest of the floor around the perimeter of the central core is about 2 ft lower. This is where all the electrical, plumbing, and HVAC are run. A smaller person might be able to slide around underneath possible. I believe the office walls are built on top of the installed raised floor. I thought this was a pretty expensive way to set up the building but I’m sure it makes it very flexible for the tenants.

Great share!!! ^^^

Also, they have started working on the SW corner of 500 east and South Temple. Perhaps the residential project there.

May someone please pull up the rendering for it again?

Big change on campus — another new building is open for business
The Robert H. and Katharine B. Garff Building adds 150,000 square feet to the campus of the David Eccles School of Business. The building will host the school’s MBA, Professional MBA, Executive MBA and MBA Online programs as well as Executive Education. It also will house the Marriner S. Eccles Institute for Economics and Quantitative Analysis, Goff Strategic Leadership Center as well as Business Career Services.

Final touches are still being added to the interior of the building, but classrooms are open and career coaches are already meeting with students in the career services suite. There will be a Business Career Services Open House on Aug. 28 and 29 from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. that are students are invited to attend.

The building was completed in only 18 months, and came to fruition because of the generosity of several donors, led by a $12 million donation by the children of Robert and Katharine Garff.

“Our parents have been our personal heroes since we were children. One of the closest things to my parents’ heart is education, and they taught us to value it above all else,” Matthew Garff said at the groundbreaking. “As a true Ute family, we are thrilled to have this opportunity to give back to the school that taught us so much, and to simultaneously honor our parents for their tireless efforts and continuous donations to education in Utah. We believe that this building will live up to our parents’ name by providing top-tier instruction and programs.”

My wife and I have gotten used to only having one vehicle. If I could afford one of those I would still only have one care and the extra space would go to a workshop.

I share a vehicle, too, because I work from home and don't need to drive a lot, but I still wouldn't want to live in a house with a tandem garage.

Listening to the RDA meeting currently just a few minutes ago. This project was discussed, the developer is anticipating groundbreaking for the end of October or early November. Yes, of 2018.

Additional info. 255 South State project has a developer and the project looks to be greater than 13 stories but under 20, unit breakdown wasn't provided as the staff didn't have it on hand. The developer is also looking at a non-profit for the ground floor, museum or similar is possible. The RDA board also brought up the possibility of incorporating a school as the City has wanted a downtown school.

Would love to see their current location redeveloped

But what will the city do without its largest public art complex?

The Leonardo isn't moving. The City has too much invested in keeping it there. They have waived too much in loans and more to keep it solvent. Last I heard, the Leonardo was going to be able to be cash flow positive after the recent loan waiver from the City meaning that they can begin to attract bigger and better attractions.

Personally, I am hoping if the developer doesn't work with the City for a school, I think the location would be a perfect spot for a relocated UMOCA (Utah Museum of Contemporary Art).

That would allow the northern possible CCH site to be fully developed as part of a Phase 2 after the southern portion is complete. It would allow for the integration of hundreds of housing units and potentially a retail component on the west side of West Temple between South Temple and 2nd South (outside the Visit Salt Lake Gift Shop).
