Meanwhile in Toronto it's just another game. National TV is funny also. The Leafs play nationally every single week, it does not even register when a game goes national.

As for the game, the Canucks had 8 penalties and the Leafs had 7. The 6 on 3 happened with 27 seconds left, the game was over at that point. The shots were also 46-21 in favour of the Leafs. The unfortunate part for the Leafs is they've been in a slide lately, otherwise it was just a... meh couldve won, shit happens game.

The Oilers now have won 13 times in a row, breaking the Canadian NHL team record of 12 wins in a row held by the Montreal Canadians.

Yeah, the Leafs are the centre of the media universe in hockey. It's incredibly annoying. Vancouver has to play a 4pm local time game just to appease them. The penalties were actually 9 vs 7, but the count isn't the problem, it's the non-calls on the Leafs and the obvious attempt to even things up at the end.

Turn on TSN and see how often they mention league leading Vancouver and Winnepeg, vs. whatever Matthews had for breakfast.

That is 100% not true. I read the Leafs forums. This was not just another game.

You realize the Leafs go through this almost every night, right? There is a one-sided hatred and hype towards the Leafs, in that sense yeah you want to kick the other sides ass becsuse they seem to care so much. Otherwise no one would give a flying fuck.

However you need to cope!

If the Leafs beat the high flying Jets and Canucks on this road trip, they'd be planning the parade route.

Personally I would love the Leafs to play at 4pm on Saturdays. If last night's game had been at 7pm local, there would have been just as many Canucks fans griping that they are being disrespected they don't get the eastern prime time game slot.

Apparently they signed Corey Perry today as well.

I wouldn't mind if the Leafs lose their next game if it leads to Keefe being fired. I want this now because they are flirting with missing the playoffs. Actually, what would be ideal is if they were in a WC spot say 3/4 of the way through the season and then gets fired and the new coach sparks the team to a deep run in the playoffs. That might be the sweet spot.

Just looked at the records of STL, MIN and OTT since firing their coaches. 2 of 3 are better since, which makes it 3 for 4 for the league when you include EDM. Actually, OTT is status quo pretty much. We'll see how NYI goes.

STL: 9-7
MIN: 14-12
OTT: 6-10 (11-15 before)

* I assume STL and MIN had worse records. I don't recall how they were doing before.

Corey-Friggen-Perry

I don't mind that one bit for the Oilers; we just got harder to play against.

You hate him when he's playing against you but love him when he's playing on your team. Not mad about this.

Perry seems pretty toxic these days, I'm not sure how adding another forward helps Edmonton, but I guess we'll see.

Good signing, the Oilers have just been floundering around the last several weeks, good thing Perry is going to come in and get them out of that funk lol.

Are the Oilers going to look at someone like Elias Lindholm now?

I have to think they are wanting to determine their 'backup' goalie and while Pickard is looking very good, I suspect that we need more of a veteran.

Package Campbell and Broberg with a top pick for someone?

In typical Habs fashion... the team is in no man's land altering between win and loss.

Thankfully my Chiefs are making forget about those clowns.

Jets drop trou and bend over for Bruins 4-1. We were missing several of our key players so it's not the end of the world. On to the next.

1st in Central.
3rd in League.

The club partnered with four local designers: Lance Cardinal (Indigenous Celebration), Pete Nguyen (Lunar New Year), AJA Louden (Celebrating Black History) and Sunny Nerval (South Asian Celebration) to develop unique Oilers logos that represent the history and culture of these four Oil Country communities.
