there is really nothing else that will be installed around that area the requires a crane maybe beside pre cast seating for level 4 lodge box seating.

1. the longhorn cutout looks a lot better from field level than on the camera. I was crapping on it all week when I saw how it looked on the web cam. Looks a lot better in those pictures above.

2. Anyone else think that scoreboard is a waste of prime viewing space? They should make it moveable (like the sliding roof at some stadiums), so it can slide up during packed games and allow more viewing room.

I don't know about the scoreboard, but I think the Longhorn cutout is ruining the continuity of the nicely curved south end seating as well as eliminating some valuable revenue seating. Besides, the Longhorn symbol is well represented all over the stadium anyway. But I suppose everyone is looking forward to the Longhorns running out of the nose of the bull like burnt orange boogers. I await the inevitable

lol do u have any idea how much that would cost and construct??? the project is already around 170 million. UT is building this so they can capitalize on more premium seatting for the boosters, and renovating athletics facilities. the screen you see being installed is are the same panels from the old screen.

I don't believe that's true.

That longhorn cutout is carny shit that I would expect from Texas Tech or Okie St and not a top-tier program.

Then again, our program over the last 15 years....

I still don't like the Longhorn cutout. We'll see how it looks when finished. But I agree with StoOge - it looks like something Tech/Okie Lite would do.

I believe the board has new panels. The others were 11 year old Daktronics.

ANC, a company that provided the largest HD video display in the major leagues to the Seattle Mariners, won the contract to install and maintain what will be the fourth-largest video board in college football.

Measuring 55.85’ high by 134.38’ wide and totaling more than 7,505 square feet, the video display will feature more than 2,723,840 physical pixels.

The Longhorn cutout will look awesome from the field for the players.
For the fans sitting higher, not so much.
A waste of seat space, IMO.

Make it box suites or something. Or make it open into standing seating like at cowboys at&t stadium. Use a little imagination.

I think the design is already pretty imaginative. Also, standing-room only areas are already apart of said design.

Scoreboards don't "move" for a reason. For one...they are not one single view board. It's a symbiotic relationship between several separate boards placed next to one another.
