Nice to see progress on this. Seems like it's been overshadowed by some of the more recent projects, but this one is one of my favorite towers U/C right now.

Full installation of the crane for this weekend appears to be on schedule. Base is on site.

This seems to be the new rendering that matches the one on the sign at the groundbreaking:

"Old" rendering:

The image was cached by Google, and is no longer available from the source which was a stone procurement company.

I like it. Gives a little more character to the building.

Much more. The before render didn't look too different from the BoA tower. I don't mind this anymore. I just wish it wasn't so dark. There's already enough of that in the area.

Sigh. I mean, I'm cool with it. It's a quality development on an underused DT block (of course, if you liked Sullivans, or want to protect the warehouse district at all costs, YMMV). But I'm about done with the idea you need a notch or a cut-out balcony or seven somewhere in the curtain wall to break up the monotony. It's so 2015. I'm ready for the 2020 style guide to come out.

Austin will probably be stuck in the early 10's style guide for the next 5-7 years

Agreed, also... blue glass... kinda done with it. I was just in Austin for Thanksgiving and my God its becoming a sea of blue/grey boxy towers. Time for architects to do something different! Another black, gold, or even multicolored building would break up the monotony (this goes for several other cites as well). Good on Austin for all the vertical though. Just feels like its time for it to mature into better design.

All an architect needs to do is look at how Chicago's black buildings have aged like a fine wine

I guess it is appropriate that an oil company would have a black HQ

Agreed, but this is one is actually breaking up the blue-silver facade monotony with the black accents. The more distant renderings do make it look very flat and blue, but some of the closer renderings show how the black steel adds some much needed color and texture. I am hoping in reality this one will look darker and more textured than some of the renderings.

That's a pretty good sized gap this is going to fill. And maybe its because I wasn't really paying attention that I hadn't noticed this before, but its going to be a decent height, almost as tall as 5th and West, the W...ect, ect...
