Okan tower just completed piling testing and is slated to finish construction in 2027:

Thx for reply. I am just used to seeing traditional caisson rigs for piling work. Never seen a bit that long/thin for piling.

Permits for Okan don't indicate much movement, but I'm sure they're moving behind the scenes.

As of now (BD22-014433-001) is still under a Stop Work Order issued on Nov/21/2022.

The update posted for TNM shows piling testing finishing in May of 2023, so there's still movement I believe.

As far as Okan Tower goes I don't think they got proper approval (or something like that) and the tower is either on hold or they're doing who knows what behind the scenes.

Miami penthouse listed for whopping $50M at Waldorf Astoria Residences
Waldorf Astoria to build 100-story luxury condo in Miami that doubles as hotel — penthouse is finally for sale

By Cortney Moore
October 7, 2023

Quote:
Hospitality giant Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts finally unveiled the $50 million penthouse that will top its highly anticipated Miami residence.

The mixed-use luxury building, which will tentatively open in 2026 and is going up in Downtown Miami, will have a 13,119 square foot penthouse that includes six bedrooms, nine bathrooms, views of the varied city skyline and bay in addition to a list of high-end amenities.

Soon to be located at 300 Biscayne Boulevard, across from downtown’s bustling Bayfront Park, and less than two miles from Miami’s financial district, Brickell, Waldorf Astoria Residences Miami will be a 100-story residence and hotel.
Quote:
BAMO, Inc., a San Francisco-based interior design firm that has won over 40 design awards from hospitality groups, is planning to construct an upscale penthouse with enclosed balconies and floor-to-ceiling windows that offer panoramic views of Miami Beach, Downtown Miami and the Biscayne Bay.

Current concept renderings that the design firm has worked on with ArX Creative, a photo-realistic computer-generated illustration company in Coral Gables, Miami, show that the eight-figure penthouse will have a roomy primary suite with premium walk-in-closets, custom Italian vanities with marble finishes in each bathroom and a modern kitchen with bespoke finishes.

Good grief! Those concept renderings of the interior look like bad 1950's design.

The seating is especially ridiculous - they look like some kind of squat bumpercars from a carnival and what is the benefit of a U-shaped or

D-shaped ceiling recess and a matching rug??

This looks like something from a bad Doris Day movie, but then, I guess that is what Miami really is!

Why not go with a "Some Like It Hot" pretentiousness? At least it would be funnier!

If built, the Penthouse would be the first occupied floor outside of NY or Chicago higher than 300 meters.

From a cutaway a while back the second level of the penthouse is around 990' or 302 meters.

Too high honestly... lol

This reply is more fun when reading it with the late Leslie Jordan’s voice (from Will & Grace).

That penthouse unit looks fine.

What's WAY more interesting to me is what's going on with this thing construction-wise?

There's been one construction pic posted to this thread in like the past 6 months.

What gives? Is it on hold?

According to last page it's supposed to start going vertical Q1 next year so I'm not sure this is really U/C yet but more prep (assuming it's not on hold).

If all the condos were sold would there be a reason that it wouldn't be built?

^ So proper foundation construction never actually commenced on this project?

and thus this thread should be moved back to the "proposals" subforum for the time being?

Foundation Work from 6 months ago:

I'm not sure when I'll be in downtown Miami next, but, will surely do an inspection next time.

From October 2022:
"According to the developers, 180-foot-deep foundation piles are now being built by drilling and concrete pouring. According to the developers, 180-foot-deep foundation piles are now being built by drilling and concrete pouring."

Has there been any work done on site since then?

I'm.just curious to know because there haven't been any construction pic updates to this thread in a long time.

Agreed, it's mysterious like all things in Miami. I've reached out to the developers for clarification, let's see if they respond.

Nice, thanks.

Sales apparently did well but seemingly little action up until now.

I'm a bit worried about this one (and some of Miami's other projects) but fingers crossed.
