Haha, triggered much? A majority of people put winters on steel wheels. I switched to aluminum because I was tired of steel wheels seizing onto the hub and I do my own switchover. Aluminum wheels aren't supposed to seize onto steel hubs but ok then. Still too early to change back to all seasons for me so I'll find out sometime next month, whenever lows are consistently above freezing in the long range forecast. BC uses some sort of brine solution on their roads though, not sure what but it's probably nowhere near as bad as calcium chloride.

One disadvantage of using aluminum wheels in the winter is that while steel wheels rust, aluminum wheels pit.

I always put some copper coat on the threads and some between the faces for my winters. Never had a problem yet.

They'll get to it by September.

They did my neighbourhood. Would've been nice if they let people know to get their vehicles off the street.

They swept the sidewalks in the Capilano area and ran the sweepers down the arterials already so that's nice to keep the dust down. There have been sweepers out downtown as well. Residential areas, not yet as far as I can tell

Yellowhead Trail freeway conversion will be taking the first steps in a multi-year project.

AHD SW adding capacity... not sure if that means up to 3 lanes, or 4... to me, 4 should be the way we go, as we should've been to 3 in 2009. 4 will make things future friendly.

(4 lanes is the max that was planned for in this section)

Yes it is adding 1 lane, The base work was originally done but the river crossing will need steel. The pylons were built to take an extra lane.

I do wish they would have added proper collector lanes.

And Please put up signs that say get the fuck out of the left lane unless passing.

Meh, in urban-ish freeways the speed variance is small enough and trips are short enough that there's next to no benefit to keeping an open passing lane. Keeping all 3 lanes equally full to maximise capacity and minimise congestion-related slowdowns in the right-most lanes is better.

Can we add proper speed limits on merge lanes as well to ensure a safe speed is reached before merging.

Would love to see these signs on our highways too. Fantastic idea Airboy!

On thé henday near the disasterous gateway/111street/119/127/ rabbit hill road/terwillegar section I kinda wish people would stay left so the merging wasn’t such a cluster fudge.

Anyone know if the new right in right out at 135 street is being paid for at least partially by the province? I feel like since they made the henday sw such a disaster they should be paying at least some of it.

How about semi-trucks should not be passing semi-trucks signs?

It's amazing what a jam up they cause when a semi going 102km/h just has to pass the other one going 100km/h by never going more than 102km/h.

At this point semi's should be automated for their cruising speed.

I seem to recall back in the mists of time that the speed limit for trucks on Highway 2 used to be lower than for other vehicles. Was that the case? I'd support that again.

I think so, back when there was a lower nighttime limit too.

A no trucks-passing-trucks rule is something I could get behind. Or a no-trucks lane, where there's 3.

they have these. Doesn't make a difference. Idiots still try to merge 20km/h slower than the speed limit
