FWIW Austin has higher household incomes than either NY or Chicago.

True, but there are far more qualified buyers in Chicago and NYC….buyers that will/do pay far more than $1k/ft.

Austin population is around 1M and Chicago population is 2.6M, there Is`nt any comparison...as I said there Is a demand out of FOMO just like any other stock market...reality is far when you compare with NY or SF or Chicago...those cities combined 3-4 bldg jobs equals to Austin Jobs...Just an example in NY just World Trade Center has 50 thousand jobs which is almost equal to whole domain jobs...

Can we please end this conversation. JFC Austin is not a Chicago or NYC comparison, however there is obviously a demand here for downtown condos towers, hence why they are being built.

Heard it’s 30% pre-sold (reserved)

Should speed up quickly now.

It's already financed with an April start. So it can't speed up too much more.

That thing's a real hoss. Will really dominate Rainey, even as other towers go up flanking it.

I know I've made some negative posts lately, so I'm gonna keep the trend going and say this is maybe my least favorite building in our pipeline. Everything down to the name...which would suggest something "modern", to the gross parking podium. Independent II

Sorry! Next post will be nice

I agree. Aside from the bland building as a whole, the parking garage itself it 167 stories tall. I'd hate the have to take the half-hour drive to and from my parking space on the upper floors.

This time I agree with you.

The previous iterations at least had some interesting cladding, now it's been reduced to another glass rectangle. There's the hint of something interesting at the crown but they didn't commit.

Yeah, surprised Nelsen Partners did this. I love Hyatt Centric

It is an uninspired glass box from the outside but the inside will be impeccably done and cater to those who can afford its environs.
Undoubtedly we will all be craning our necks to look around this tower at the super tall beyond anyway so its best it doesn't deter our vision too much.

Agreed! Gorgeous interior, but the outside has been reduced to nothing but another glass box. THe previous iterations had some texture, i wish they didn't stray from that.

Just got an email stating everything in the building is sold except for some of the penthouses. Wow. Container Bar is still standing, and the building is already full of residents.

Damn. I guess the future looks bright for financing condo towers.
