903 Peachtree

Regarding 903 Peachtree, do we yet know which way the long side of the tower spans (east-west or north-south?)

I would think north-south would make the most sense since the views to the east and west would be mostly unobstructed by Metropolis and Hanover/Viewpoint. But the renderings do not make it look like that from what I can tell.

It's definitely an east-west orientation.

Yep. Note the street names and alignment of the other buildings.

No problem! I agree the east and west views will be really nice from this project. Very few north/south aligned buildings in midtown along Peachtree. Most span east to west. I’m hoping this project moves forward soon and maybe you’ll have another interesting project to watch unfold

I'm disappointed in the value engineering on the hotel, particularly on its top levels.

I think this is going to look quite boring when built. The previous renderings looked to be more of a brick/stone facade to blend in with the surrounding buildings. I think this may end up like some of the buildings that people on here complain about so much.

I think the amount of foot traffic in the pic is hysterical.

Why does this always happen? Can they really be saving that much money by skimping on the top floors?
Is brick work really so expensive that developers are will to destroy the aesthetic of a building to save on 2-3 floors of brick??

This is endemic across the city and it looks horrendous. How can we realistically motivate developers not to do this trash?

Yeah pretty funny, but I have seen it like this several times.

This still looks like a winner to me. Its a black and white rendering with not a whole lot of detail. The main emphasis of the new design standards to architects is to use quality materials and that is what we can expect with this hotel.

I like the design. I think it will look better than this rendering because it’s black and white.

The majority of the building looks like brick and stone. It looks clean, simple, and will compliment the surrounding buildings well, even though it won't stand out.

Well, it is a development forum. Besides, you’ll be criticizing the speed that it’s built once construction starts.
