is the glass that has no balconies in front of it a different [lighter] color or is that just an illusion?

It's actually a different glazing to reflect more sunlight to keep the building cooler.

Sexy - I'm a fan of this building - but its form and floor plates are not as rigorous as Aqua's, where they are tied into sight lines & view corridors; this is more about eye candy & branding. Sure is sleek, though.
