Thats the tower I was thinking of when I made that comment! I wonder where the pool will be located? Love the lush vegetation also.

^ I have a sense that the above mentioned building looks like a big black scary prison at night!

I don't know if this is newsworthy or not, but the other day I was walking past the former Bank of America building on 5th street and noticed that there was a public notice about a zoning change hearing.

Maybe a sign that T. Stacy's project will actually happen?

lol.. I bet that the "Tower of doom" building would make a great haunted house!

It may be developed someday; but, probably not by Tom Stacy. My guess is that he is just obtaining the necessary entitlements to build a development similar to the one he has proposed...then will sell the property to a developer who may then develop a project on the site.

AND/OR

Disney will build a location for the 3rd coast in Texas; since west (California) and east (Florida) coasts already have one. And I'm pretty sure they won't ever build further up north as it's stays too cold for most of the year.
I really dont think Austin wants one yet, and i hope not just yet. Lets get more highways around here.
You see if Austin wanted one They would have saved there money and not built Austins Park and Pizza. Tho i can as well take this as a sign that Austin is constantly changing and getting bigger so maybe they threw that at us to have fun and play around in til they build a theme park.

Also have any of yall thought about (if) austin became like Las Vegas. Big casinos. Roller coasters on top of buildings Dude imagine that. I also did write a letter to the city purposing a Big water thing in the lake like in las vegas they have that water fountain display in front of a hotel. Your thoughts?

No, thanks, we already have one.

Looks like the NE corner of Congress & Chavez. Only taller. Someone want to do a side-by-side comparison, or maybe Photoshop it into Austin's skyline?

Other than the piramid shape of the buildings, I think thats where the comparison stops. Our building is much more beautiful.

With the "wings" on this building; it does have a "bat type" feature!

While Lake Bellagio is pretty cool, lets leave it in Vegas.

LOL

Austin's Park & Pizza?? Isn't that just a glorified Chuck E Cheese?

Btw, there's a Putt Putt Golf in Killeen that is almost the same size...

Give them a chance to finish it. They haven't installed the blue mercury vapor ("neon") discharge tubes yet. Somewhere north of the 38th parallel there's a prisoner/peasant slaving away (literally) with a hand-cranked vacuum pump and a blowtorch making those to earn his daily half bowl of rice. Meanwhile, in another village hundreds of children are stoking coal fires to melt-down Coke bottles smuggled in from the south to make the window glass. Dear leader WILL be pleased. Or else.

actually, construction on that building stopped back in the late 80's (I think it was the late 80's its definitely been a while).

My favorite part is the North Korean government photoshops it out of all photos of the city.

Edit: Holy shit, they are going to finish it? :lol

Maybe that's what we had to pay for to get them to stop making nukes.

How about getting Villa Muse done. Then build some attractions around the music and movie industry. Kind of like a Universal Studios, but give a real Austin taste.

Based on local news of the past couple of months, Villa Muse has officially decided not to build within the Austin city limits or Travis county. They wanted to build on a flood plain, therefore wanted some tax exemptions (which is understandable in my opinion) but the city denied their request (how ridiculous). Now they're scouting nearby towns. It looks like Bastrop might get it... Or worse, they will go outside of the metro area to Dallas, Houston, or San Antonio..

Haha, not to quote this ugo again, but believe it or not, this building began construction in 1987 and had been on hold for over 20 years. Only recently has it apparently restarted construction. Not only was it the tallest hotel in the world for a while, well, at least it would have been had it finished when it was supposed to. But at 1,083 feet tall with 105 floors, it was also the tallest 1,000+ foot tall building outside of the US to start construction. Of course it's only just now finishing, so technically the first completed 1,000+ foot tall building outside of the US is the Bank of China Tower in Hong Kong in 1990.

Incredible shot of the Frost Bank Tower, priller. The sunsets the last few days have been especially nice.
