Already 25C in Moncton at 8 AM and hot, humid and hazy. The overnight "low" was 22.4C
The expected high today will again be 34C (humidex 42), but, thundershowers are expected to arrive this afternoon and last overnight as the cold front passes through. The high tomorrow will be "only" 28C.
The heat is on. Currently sun and cloud and 26 (humidex 34, dew point 21) at 10am. Temperatures pushing 30 for YYT today, I expect my personal station to make it over 30. Toasty overnight too, with temperatures hovering around 21 for most of the night before a brief dip near sunrise.
All the cool air in the west is good for forest fire control though. Silver lining. as of 11:38 Atlantic it is 30° in Fredericton but the humidity has it at 40°. Gross. Only going outside for dog pee pee and poo poo. I took my pup for his walk at 9:30 last night it was still disgustingly hot.

Currently 30 with a humidex of 36, which honestly feels nice and cool after someone left nature's oven on yesterday. Yesterday was our highest humidex reading (44) since June 22nd, 2022 (also 44).
RE: climate change debate on the last page; it's an undeniable reality and not good. But is that going to stop me from enjoying the warm weather? Hell no.
Also; localized single day heat events don't really speak to global climate change. Using those as a talking point is silly, frankly. Focus on the long term picture - else you just give legitimacy to those who use localized cold snaps as proof climate change isn't happening.
sun and haze, 31 (humidex 41, dew point 23) at 2:30. Slowly closing in on setting a new record for highest temperature recorded at my station. It's the highest humidex value recorded.
7:20 in the am and I see steam rising from a vent. Is this Canada or the US? God knows what that garbage is and why it’s there despite every building having cleaning staff. Maybe that little section is the city’s responsibility.
It definitely thunderstormed. And love park’s water is indeed green with algae or whatever. I wonder if they can put a chemical in there to prevent that buildup.
And garbage accumulating in the slip at Queens Quay again. Let’s see how many months it takes for someone to scoop it out. Took a long time last year.
Saw this tree in Leaside still blossoming. Don’t know what it is but that’s a late blossom compared to many others.
