That Maywood tower looks great following a keep it simple (maybe boring) theme (but curious how the window covering will appear).
Even so, the spandrel grid is consistent so far (penthouses?)

Based on the renderings, the penthouse and sub-penthouse levels are (mostly) stepped back from the main tower faces.

So it will be hard to tell from the ground even if they're not matching or consistent with the main tower stem spandrel.

smart money says they don't match.
Not that it matters,
(.....given how far back the faces are anyway)

The second render shows the middle part of the tower mostly consistent all the way to the top with the balconies below becoming internal space for the sub- and penthouse levels.
So in that regard at least (and in that central feature part) they did make an effort to match.

Personally I feel it's much ado about nothing.

I think officedweller was pulling your leg on that one. Of course the windows will match, just like 99% of buildings and the building design takes that into account, being symmetrical.

Interesting news about that Telford tower! This and Maywood both extend the tower row far to the south of Beresford. The whole area is building up quickly!

On the Maywood tower I was alluding to the discussion on the Station Square thread, plus my penchant for symmetry.
This one is nicely symmetrical so far ... fingers crossed?

There was also that one on Willingdon.

The proposal is a 30-storey condo tower with a 7-storey rental podium.

The total proposed density is 8.3 FAR.

There was also that one on Willingdon.
That would make it the THIRD one on Willingdon (all 30+ storeys tall) including the one I posted in the previous page by Westland on Willingdon and Cassie (still no info. on how tall. The render just show the podium), as well as the one that you posted a couple of pages back ('The Standard' by Anthem, which actually looks upper 40+ storeys tall from that render) here...
https://skyscraperpage.com/forum/sho...postcount=3328

You kinda get the impression with that density all building up on that side, Willingdon is becoming a kind of "western wall" for that Maywood area flanking that side of Central park.

That's a pretty harsh photoshop they got going on there.

Yeah,...
I'm not really sure why they felt that was necessary.

It's not like people don't or didn't know there were a whole bunch of towers going up behind that site, or already built.

It's the usual marketing render image, b.s. where you try to show your tower like it's the only tower in the area for several hundred yards trying to trick buyers not from the local area (**cough**or the country**cough**) that you'll have all these amazing views.

.....only to find you're in a forest of towers with your unit looking into other people's units an almost all sides.

(It's actually a REALLY bad photoshop all things considered.
Isn't that tower shown over the right side behind this Maywood tower, .... Metroplace tower (in the wrong position,...because we can CLEARLY see it's podium at the correct location to the middle right of the image),.....and it's shown like it's sitting right smack dab on top of the mall.
LOL!!
What the hell is happening there?
What were they smoking?)

That tower just behind Maywood is the first Station Square tower. The picture is taken when Sun Tower 1 was being excavated, roughly in summer 2018. You see the pit on the right side.

I think they photoshopped Gold House towers that were under construction at the time just to have a cleaner picture. Or to mislead about north views. Or both.

The renderings for this one always looked dull but the tower is turning out pretty nice. It's VERY dark green and adds nicely to the mix with the yellow Gold House towers. Still a filler and nothing much more.

Congratz to Burnaby to get a nice indoor swimming pool complex. It also comes with an ice rink! The insane amount of condo developments must be helping to pay for this nice facility.

Is the Burnaby Lake centre just 1st on the list or is it to have this one complete (being in the middle of Brentwood and Metrotown) and then it makes it easier to replace Bonsor and Confederation? I know Bonsor gets renovated all the time but the population is going to be through the roof.

Burnaby is also replacing the Cameron Community Rec Centre and is looking for input from the community, there is a high possibility it will have an aquatic centre.

I think it will be built to the east of the current centre and then the old one will be demolished for an expanded park from what I remember reading.

A few things:

1. I didn't get a photo, but as I was passing on the skytrain today, I saw that Intracorp's "Telford on the Walk" is underway now with excavation. There were visible diggers & dumptrucks moving earth.

2. Interesting bit of confirmation from Monday's council meeting agenda - the Anthem site on Kingsway & Hazel (Across from Station Square) is apparently confirmed to be 66 storeys, and 211 m high. It'll be heading to public hearing on July 27th. Fingers crossed we see some renderings then! See page 181 here: https://pub-burnaby.escribemeetings....cumentId=52611

South west corner of Dawson St and Alpha Ave. What looks like to me a site prep works. Lots of trees and vegetation were removed as well as building demolition works.
There are also similar works done on the opposite side of the quadrant near Willingdon Ave and Alaska Street.

66 storeys will be a lot! I am surprised if the height is only being 211 metres and not over 220 metres. It's going to look amazing as part of the skyline. Incredible that there are 3 towers of over 200 metres in planning in Metrotown!

Thanks for the info.

Just imagining the view from downtown when these latest vey tall proposals are built. Especially if some significant lighting features are added.

I just looked up the latest Burnaby Major Developments Projects and the next hot spot in Metrotown will be Telford Avenue. Telford On The Walk isn't listed yet but they have:

Rez #17-10009, 6450 / 6486 / 6488 / 6508 Telford Avenue
a highrise market residential building atop a retail and office podium, and a rental residential building
408 market, 167 rental
Second Reading 2021.02.08

REZ #18-13, 6615 Telford Ave
a high-rise strata apartment building and a low/mid-rise rental apartment building
market strata: 261, below market rental: 54, market rental: 17, CMHC median rental: 17
Public Hearing 2021.06.29, Second Reading 2021.07.12

REZ #18-23, 6630 Telford Avenue
two high-density multi-family residential rental buildings
(n/a)
Initial Report 2020.12.14

That'll replace most (all?) of the buildings on Telford between Beresford and Maywood Street.

Thanks for posting!
Good to see this moving ahead and confirmation of number of floors.
That's the one called "Metro King" in last summer's Anthem newsletter where it was described as 63 storeys. Nice bump in floor count!
