Those Flair load factors look atrocious considering what Flair was charging for tickets in 2023. I feel like the AC SFO load factor is excellent as well. Looks like the smaller aircraft makes sense.

Nope. Reason these are available is because DOT in the USA publishes the stats. Nothing equivalent for international or domestic.

94,173 people flew on KLM to Amsterdam in 2023, for a load factor of 95.8%

https://ec.europa.eu/eurostat/databr.../table?lang=en

Passengers for Mexico are also posted, but not seats, so can't determine load factor.

Cancun 70,005
Puerto Vallarta 56,211
San Jose del Cabo 20,482
Mazatlan 10,966
Huatulco 4,486

Didn't the Edmonton business community rally Air Canada to start this flight? Given it's success, why hasn't this approach been taken again? I'm sure AC could fill a CRJ to LAX with UA connections

SFO is already a lengthy trip in the CRJ although it (LAX) is reachable range wise.

The CRJ seats 76 while the next plane up in AC fleet is the 319 which seats 120 passengers. That would be a mainstream Air Canada plane. Possible if the numbers are there

The load factors for the sun destination flights are probably pretty high. I never see too many empty seats on the flights we went to Mexico on.

That is exactly what happened for YEG to secure that flight and given its success with O/D passengers connected to the tech market there, and connections to Asia, the success of this route has been demonstrated.

Any trip on a CRJ is too long. AC has upped the CRJ count to/from Vancouver. It's "fun" watching infrequent travellers try to bring multiple bags onto that plane. I swear it takes longer to load a CRJ than an A320 or 737.

Even more can be said about those Piper Cubs AC runs to/from Calgary. The only thing missing from those flights is banjo music piped through the speakers.

Not to mention the large UA hub and Star Alliance connections there globally. Same would go for LA. SFO and DEN are really the only SA options right now for the US, would be nice to see some more from AC/UA.

YEG-LAX would be a cakewalk for the RJ, in terms of range. Jazz used to fly YYC-IAH which is 400 miles further.

Another reminder that Jazz is very short pilots and airplanes... there's lots of routes they'd be flying if that wasn't the case and YEG-LAX could very well be on that list or is something they'd explore.

WestJet increasing frequencies on quite a bit of Edmonton routes for winter 2024. Biggest changes will be Edmonton - Montreal/Ottawa are now both year round. Also big increases for Edmonton Winnipeg.

Yes, domestic additional frequencies are good for Edmonton YEG✅.

But still work to do to get more nonstop US/international flights✈️ at YEG.

As Eurowings Discover is adding a new seasonal route Munich MUC - Calgary YYC in S25,3-5x weekly.
https://www.aeroroutes.com/eng/240604-4yns25muc
Basically YYC has seen more new international route announcements the last several months, compared to YEG.

I'm sure that metal could be put to far better use on another route.

Don't forget to copy and paste this information into the YWG and YVR thread.

Why do you post shit in here that has nothing to do with Edmonton. You literally can't help yourself
