Ha. No idea, but I doubt that it will be February because that may be too soon for them to have had time to move some lobby/retail walls and landscaping stuff and make a rendering of mural somewhere to appease the DC. I'm going with the March meeting.

Seems it has not yet, as of the April 13 special meeting. The regular April meeting is next week. Agenda is not published yet, so maybe then?

Uh oh, that was short-lived. She’s been chopped in half. The garage is also no longer rounded at the corners.

Not particularly surprising, but still disappointing. Still a very nice looking tower, but it'll always be shadowed by what could have been.

Proposed buildings get downsized all the time, but a building of this size being cut in half? That's a significant change from when they put this up for approval just a couple months ago. Seems a bit strange.

Given a lot of uncertainties right now, I'm not surprised... but this is very disappointing - especially for such a stellar design.

Very sad. Just about the size of Carmelo's tower next door.

Not surprising. Here's hoping they push it out a few years and build it as the supertall they originally proposed.

Hey loonytoony what the hell happened?

The original design got a lot of publicity and not just here. Wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then. (Bob Seger).

Is it that surprising? Isn't this a local developer who hasn't built a tower of any size before?

While the materials are still great, I have to agree that the design no longer works at these proportions. The rounded roof now looks stumpy. Like a tombstone.

S**t! What a great way to start a Friday.

I agree 100%. This is very strange.

I have serious doubts this gets built at all. One does not usually survive going so public with such a grand initial design - then destroy it by cutting it in half. They will definitely not be able to demand the prices they could have with the original proposal.

Residential demand is still strong - especially downtown. I very curious as to the true reason for the amputation of scale. The DC did not demand it.
