Great pic. Old City Hall is a fantastic building in an impressive location. Wonder if it was ever accessible by streetcar for even a few months.

Seems they could so something interesting with the patch of grass across the street.

Wow gorgeous shot! I would love to try that angle, but it's class F airspace, too close to Rideau Hall.

No. The Sussex streetcar was replaced by buses on January 18, 1954. This enabled the replacement of the old iron bridges with the more modern bridges that we see today. Somewhere, I have pictures of the old bridges. The new city hall officially opened on October 31, 1957.

Thanks. Wikipedia mentioned the Britannia Line was last to be shut down in 1959, but I was unsure about the others. You have an impressive wealth of knowledge about local history.

Nice pic! Visited the French Embassy over the weekend for Doors Open and stopped by Tavern On the Falls for a drink after. It's a beautiful but not overly popular area. I think many people, other than bikers, don't often venture out north of the market.

That Marriott is more spandrel than windows.

Every other hotel property they have in Montreal looks decent, even good. Why did they have to cheap out so much in Ottawa? I'm terrified of what the Market and Bay street hotels will look like.

Close. It's right when you get out of the woods of the Sentier des Portageurs near rue Bourget, from a clearing by the river.

I recognized the rocks!

Parc Mousette and vicinity is a hidden gem. Don't tell anyone.

Knew you were secretly a lover of the Quebec side.

Don't worry, won't tell.

It is interesting to see what 'here' looks like from there, since that spot is part of the wonderful view from here.
