What's with all hate for Famoso? It's the closest thing available in Edmonton to a true Napoli pizza - the birth place of pizza. You cats need to get out more.

Haven't tried Famoso but I was in Napoli a few years ago and made a point of trying "authentic pizza". It was okay, but I was kind of dissapointed. I would agree it is certainly a different style of pizza. Famoso may be good or bad at it, but I dont even know if it is fair to compare "authentic" style to what we generally consider pizza here...it is hardly even the same dish.

I just love how people who like Famoso almost always preemptively describe it as authentic. Who cares if your food is authentic. Authentic is irrelevant when it comes to how something tastes, is it not?

I'm almost conviced they do so because it somehow implies that they are so much refined than the rest of us to eat something like that because it's currently fashionable. Not like that greasy stuff the rest of us eat.

Again, wow, you like your pizza the way poor grape farmers ate it 200 years ago. Lucky you. Perhaps I'll find a bakery that loads their bread with saw dust like some dirt poor shithole in eastern europe has been doing for a couple generations. That would be authentic too. Maybe i'll start the next cool trend.

^Brah, they still eat pizza that way in Italy. 60 million Italians can't be wrong.

Mm, Famoso might be like trying to eat medieval English cooking. Mutton with green sauce, bap and pease-mush.
