^ yeah looks wild. But is it a stitch with two shots, one in daylight the other dusk?

That last one was sweet. It looks to me like there are more than 2 times of day stitched together there. It looks like there are about 5 or 6 different times there.

I got a few pics at lunch yesterday but they were mostly construction so they weren't anything too great. I only got one non-construction pic so here it is along with a couple construction ones.

New photos and my panorama!

I took my first panorama today of SEFC. I stitched it together by hand in photoshop and it doesn't line up entirely. For those who are more knowledgeable at photoshop, is there a way to automate the process?

Anyway, here it is. This view is going to change so much in the coming years. Amazing to know it is a before picture.

A close up of Concord Pacific's Coopers Quay precinct.

Foundry in SEFC.

The Olympic Village.

Urban volleyball.

Tandem in Burnaby. In my opinion this is how you take an suburban street and make it a successful urban streetscape.

I was wandering through the new "wetland" area of the Tandem development when a heron awkwardly landed in the water in front of me. Startled, I snapped off a single shot that is actually the best animal photograph I've ever taken.

An amazing brutalist relic at the entrance to Lougheed Village.

Silhouette construction progress.

Cora II construction progress.

* photos by me on August 13th

There is a stairwell at that point of the Cambie Street Bridge and I took pictures from that. Long arms don't hurt either.

That looks very nice. I don't think there is any feature like that in photoshop, but I'm not an expert with it so I can't give u a confirm answer. But many cameras these days have a panorama feature built in. Does yours?

Great pano! Thanks for going to the effort of manually putting that together (I can't help you with photoshop either, sorry).

Out of curiosity, how did you get it to look like you're hovering 10 ft away from the bridge? Long arms?

Based on the number of cranes south of False Creek alone I'd say that view should change quite a bit, not to mention there will be the addition of the Olympic Village and the whole surrounding SEFC neighbourhood.

By the way, you should post that in the construction thread in the Canada section as it definitely shows some construction (plus it's just a cool pano).

revised SEFC panorama

Thanks to Deez in the Canada forum for the tip of using Autostitch to piece together the pano automatically.

(Revised august 13th SEFC panorama taken by SFUVancouver/Vancouverite using a Panasonic Lumix TZ2. I used autostitch for the panorama compiling)

I liked the first version better.
My Olympus does the same autostitch and I don't like the curvature at the top and bottom of the images.

SFU, try this. it's a free download of a program called "Panorama Maker 3".
http://www.freefunfiles.com/software/graphics/illustration/panorama-maker-3.html

^^ those pics in the other thread are incredible. Someone should ask the person to post them here as well, I'm also curious as to what the feedback in that thread is all about. Can anyone translate?

I asked the author, who is from Vancouver, why he posted photos from October. I also asked why the city looks so empty in the pictures, if he took them during Thanksgiving. I also said I was jealous! The person after me commented on how he is fascinated by the unique Scandinavian atmosphere of the city.
