Actually I must commend Majin. His persistance and efforts in the under-appreciated realm of reverse-psychology, have done wonders for Sacramento urban development.

I know this is not news anymore -- but I will share anyway just to keep the juices of excitement flowing!!!

This was in my inbox this today...

As I’m sure you may have heard through the local media over the past 24 hours, The Towers on Capitol Mall is now100% financed and has the green light to move forward with construction. This milestone was the final piece needed to make The Towers on Capitol Mall, and truly luxury high rise living, a reality in Sacramento.

We would like to invite you to be among the first group of proud owners to reside in this truly magnificent structure that all others will be compared to for years to come. The Towers on Capitol Mall remains unequalled on many levels, including quality, amenities, views, included features and location just to name a few. In addition, The Towers on Capitol Mall is the first community to actually break ground and become a reality.

Phase three is now available for sale and our sales information center/showroom is open seven days per week. Additionally, we have maintained our commitment to customers previously on our priority list, and therefore, it is now closed with homes currently being made available to the general public. Although pre-qualifying with one of our preferred lenders is no longer required to reserve a home, all finalized purchase agreements will require a 10% purchase deposit at the time of contract.

These are very exciting times for Downtown Sacramento, and a new renaissance of living is on the way. To be a part of the excitement and to see what all the talk is about, please visit us at 455 Capitol Mall Suite 135, or call ahead to schedule an appointment at (916) 443-2200.

As always, we would like to thank you for your support in the growth of Downtown Sacramento, and for your continued interest in The Towers on Capitol Mall... THE place to live in Sacramento.

Sincerely,

The Towers Sales Team

Well isn’t that cool!! That’s the 300' tower right?
Anybody know what that huge construction site is near raley field is? I know it's not the CalSTRS thing.

That's the Irontriange development... or Iron something
I saw it last week where they are now begging to build the homes or
condos on the site. The plans I saw long ago showed it to be a pretty
tight community. I'm still curious about road access to get in and out cause
it's bordered by the RR tracks to the south and Hwy. 160 to the north and
closed in by other properties to the east and west.

went by the site this afternoon, and guys were still operating heavy equipment at 6pm. That was good to see. They were setting the drainage lines deep into the soil. After they sunk the pipe into the bottom of a deep whole, they back filled around the pipe with gravel and as the gravel fell into the whole, gallons and gallons of water came rushing out as it was displaced. I imagine de-watering for this project will take longer than we all wish. But it did look like they were making good progress getting all the plumbing hooked up so it wouldn't surprise me if the de-wetting actually started by the end of the week. Who knows though. It was just good to see men working overtime on the site.

Also, I saw Craig Nassi standing outside his sales office and I congratulated him on a great project and said I looked forward to seeing more things from him in the near future in Sac and he seemed excited at the prospect.

Nary a word from the Sac Biz Journal about Saca and Deutsche Bank. I wonder what the deal is.

Saca interview on KSTE 6/8

John Saca had an interview with Phil Cowan this morning. Not too much new that I can recall....

He said it would be 32 months until the last move-ins.

Construction will start next week. I think he was talking about site prep stuff, because he said there will be an open house type event in July when they start driving pile.

Said he is being very selective about the retail, as he feels it will define the project.

the Towers will try to sign retail deals that raise the bar for NoCal outside of SF. With Pro Bass Shops going in at the railyard, I think it would be an excellent idea to put in a NASCAR Superstore in the Towers, thereby acting as the other retail bookend opposite Pro Bass Shops.

I think I'd be ashamed to say I was from a place with a NASCAR Superstore.

I'm ashamed that America thinks NASCAR is anywhere close to cool.

That's TOTALLY different...there's no political affiliation associated with Ferrari!

Now I could handle that! A ferrari store would pull in a lot of visitors, but could it really be successful there?
