I agree 100% on all points.

My only issue with the Kent Street project is that the DVA / VAC building takes up most of the south side of Kent. What I’d LOVE to see, as part of the planned renovations to the building, would be for the Kent Street side of the building, ground level, be converted to space that the public could use…be it a small exhibit telling the stories of Islanders who served our country, lease space for small / local shops, or a combination of both. I’ll be expressing these wishes in a letter to the VAC minister, and the city.

$79.6 million project expansion will include a new 30,000 square foot building in Charlottetown. The planned expansion will be able to produce up to 160 million doses of a mRNA vaccine per year. Construction will begin in March, with production planned to start about a year later. The Charlottetown plant will have the capacity to package up to 70 million doses a year so they are ready for health-care workers. Good news! It's shocking the state of the mall.

Sherwood Crossing is next to Royalty Crossing, which is down the street from Royalty Power Centre. They’re not very imaginative with their names. Either way, I look forward to watching yet another failed attempt at reviving that mall. Hope I’m wrong, but trying to do anything with that footprint is an uphill battle. A mall shouldn’t start at Point A and end at Point B, it should loop around.

I saw that Wild Wing restaurants out of Ontario are looking to expand and they have two franchise opportunities available on PEI, one in Summerside and one in Charlottetown. Will be interesting to see if there is any interest from franchisee’s on PEI to invest in one of these.

The new owners intend to invest $100 million in the mall over the next few years. Surely that will make a difference. We'll see!

203 Fitzroy

The footings are mostly in place for this development. Damn shame it isn't
4-5 more floors.

It’s a shame for sure. These big infill opportunities are limited, it’s sad to see such a large opportunity being squandered.

Especially with the current market. 2-3-4 additional floors on this building would fill up quickly. Opportunity lost.

You’re 100% correct. To give you an idea of the demand for apartments, people are putting their names on units at the building under construction by Bed Bath and Beyond, West Royalty Suites. Unsure if they also putting deposits down, but I know someone who has his name on a unit there, they’re still a few months away from opening.

Same in Moncton. Some are fully leased even before they're completed! When will the West Royalty Suites be ready?

The Bioscience building.

The Bioscience building is mostly completed. Should be operational
in the very near future.

The new apartment building that was just completed behind the mall, there are no vacancies! It was totally filled up before it was completed.
