Is it me or does all the glass look to be the same color? Also has more of a bluer tint at least in these photos.

Kinda hard to tell the final glass color off of just the floor pieces as they are depicted to be darker all the same color--

The western portion is just about back at maximum, and has to wane back to minimum again before the first setback is even reached. This will be massive.

Will someone explain how the curtainwall on the West side portion will match what is shown in the original rendering? I've attempted to attach a side-by-side of the original rendering and BVictor1's pic. Seems like a lot of concrete on that side while the render appears quite transparent.

If you take away that shadow they put on the rendering it looks a lot closer to the actual building.

^No, Citizen is right... the renderings are a lie. As I've infamously maintained in previous postings, the basis of this building is an absurdity, particularly for form-follows-function and the tradition of structural expression in this town.

Simple. It won't match the rendering. Nor will it match the night rendering on the website which shows full floors on the western portion lit up below the top setback where the shear wall ends.

The floor panels are being put in place on the southern deck extension. More storage space/wiggle room for the construction crew coming soon.

Wait, what is all of the bitching about regarding the rendering? Confuse..

Edit: I get it now. Personally, I don't think it's a big deal. There is still a lot of light coming through the punched openings in those shear walls, and whoever the glazing manufacturer is can match the reflectance of the spandrel glass of the exterior during the day, while allowing light from the interior at night to diffuse more widely to mimic the look of the adjacent clear panels. It may not look EXACTLY like the rendering shown, but it may be close. In Viracon I trust.

Also, renderings are done pretty far in advance of a project, even before financing is in place, so design changes are always a possibility, especially for a project this massive and complex. Just go back to page 1 to see what the design originally looked like (yeeeesssshhhh

Honestly, I like the softer curves on the real building as opposed to the renderings. It may be more of a personal preference, but I do think it accompanies Aqua quite well.

According to the PD docs, the overall E-W footprint is a touch over 350' (which, of course, includes the easternmost stump). Is there a wider skyscraper in the city? If I'm remembering correctly, Hancock's 875 N Michigan Avenue's broad side is somewhere in the neighborhood of 225 - 250'.
